Is your plant not thriving? Let us help!

Unsure if your plant is dead, dying, or just struggling? We want to help — before it’s too late. In many cases, we can help you get things back on track.

We recommend emailing us at info@vandermeernursery.com with:

  • Clear photos of the plant and its location
  • A brief description of where it’s planted (indoor/outdoor, how much sun/shade, relation to windows if indoor, in-ground or container)
  • How it’s been cared for (watering, fertilizer, etc.)
  • Any signs of damage, pests, or changes you’ve noticed

This gives our senior staff time to review and discuss more complex issues so we can support you more effectively. Your success in the garden is important to us!

Hardy Plant Guarantee

Here at Vandermeer’s, our priority is your success! We know that healthier plants lead to happier gardens and we want every plant you take home to thrive.

Sometimes, even with the best care, a plant just doesn’t make it and we understand how disappointing that can be. Our Hardy Plant Guarantee is here to give you peace of mind and a little extra support when things don’t go as planned.

To Redeem Our Guarantee

Returns under our guarantee policy are accepted between June 1st and September 30th of the applicable year. Plants outside of this window may be in dormancy and therefore would not be accepted for store credit. They should be left in the ground and can be returned in the following season if the guarantee period is still valid.

In the unfortunate event that one of your guaranteed plants dies:

  1. Bring the dead plant including the root system, to the customer service desk.
  2. Proof of purchase is required, so please bring your receipt. (If you provided your phone number at the time of purchase, we have your receipt saved!)
  3. We'll issue a store credit for the amount you paid at the time of purchase. You can use this credit toward anything in the store — so if you’d rather try something new, you’re welcome to choose a different plant. If the same variety is available and you’d like to replace it, the credit can be applied to that as well.

Please note: If the plant was purchased on sale, the guarantee covers the price you paid at the time of purchase. A price difference may apply if the replacement is no longer discounted or if there has been a price change between seasons.

Roses

Guaranteed until September 30th of the year of purchase.

All of our roses are grafted onto hardy rootstock to help them survive winter conditions in our area. To protect the graft union and support healthy regrowth in spring, they require additional winter care by mounding soil over the graft in late fall.
