American Sycamore

American Sycamore is a large deciduous tree native to Ontario. It features large, maple-like foliage, peeling, mottled bark, and fruiting balls that are packed with seed-like fruits. These seed-filled balls remain on the tree into winter and are eaten by numerous wildlife species. 

American Sycamore grows best in full to part sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soils. It will tolerate seasonal flooding and a variety of soil conditions, including clay, sand and gravel.
