Bean Yard Long 'Python'
Vigna unguiculata 'Python'
Python Yard Long Bean is a productive grower, producing many 16"-20" long pods. The beans are stringless and tender with a rich, sweet flavour. This variety is tall and requires support (trellis, fence, etc.) to grow.
Harvest your beans when they are at least 12" long firm, and green. Pale, soft beans are overripe and should not be eaten. Yard Long Beans can be very productive and you may need to harvest once a day during peak season.
Yard Long Beans require warm weather in order to grow. They do best in full sun with well-drained soil and consistent moisture. Amend heavy soils with organic matter before planting to improve your drainage. Don't allow the soil to dry out too much in between waterings as this will cause the beans to grow short and become fibrous.
