Black Gum 'Wildfire'
Nyssa sylvatica 'Wildfire'
Wildfire is a variety of Black Gum with new leaves emerging deep red before maturing to green. In the fall, the leaves turn shades of orange-yellow to purple-red.
Black Gum grows best in full to part sun with moist, acidic soil. It tolerates poor drainage and can even grow in standing water, but will also tolerate some drought and can adapt to drier soils. It has a long taproot and should not be transplanted once established.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through August, depending on suppliers availability.
