Boston Ivy
Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchii'
Boston Ivy is a vigorous climbing, self-adhesive vine (or groundcover) with shiny green leaves that turn shades of crimson, scarlet, and burgundy in the fall. It's quite a tough, hardy vine and isn't fussy about the type of soil it grows in. Boston Ivy can tolerate full shade, but the fall colour may not be as brilliant.
Be careful where you plant your Boston Ivy; the tendrils have adhesive tips that look like suction cups that can be very difficult to remove. Boston Ivy should never be allowed to grow up trees, as it will shade out the leaves, which can eventually kill the tree.
Boston Ivy grows best in full to part sun with average, well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought-tolerant.
Seasonal Availability: Typically May to August, depending on suppliers availability.
