Bottle Gourd 'Green Club'
Lagenaria siceraria 'Green Club'
Green Club is a high-yielding, Indian-type bottle gourd.
Harvest your Bottle Gourd when the skin is still soft and can be easily scratched; this is when they are best for eating. Remove ripe gourds quickly to keep plants productive.
Bottle Gourds grow best in full sun with moist (not soggy), well-drained soil. Since they are a vining plant, they will require support from a trellis, fence, etc.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
Characteristics
Hardiness: Non-Hardy/Annual
Does Not Require Cross-Pollination
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
