Bottlebrush Buckeye
Aesculus parviflora
Bottlebrush Buckeye is a large, shade-loving shrub that flowers in early summer. The white, bottlebrush-like flowers are attractive to pollinators and it's large size makes it useful as shelter for other animals.
Bottlebrush Buckeye likes consistently moist soil, but will not tolerate poor drainage. Though it can tolerate full sun, it tends to prefer full to part shade. Consider adding organic matter to your garden to help loosen your soil if drainage is a problem.
