Cactus Bunny Ear (Assorted)
Opuntia ssp.
Bunny Ear is a beginner-friendly cactus in the Opuntia genus. They have somewhat flattened, green pads covered in small spines (glochids), which can be yellow or white depending on the species. Be careful; each 'dot' on the cactus is actually hundreds of small spines that can and will stick to your skin and clothing.
Bunny Ears grow best in bright, direct light, but can tolerate bright, indirect light. They should be planted in a small pot with well-draining cactus/succulent soil. Water only once the soil has fully dried, and decrease your watering frequency in the winter when the days are shorter.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available year-round, depending on supplier availability.
Characteristics
Upright
Size can vary depending on species
Care
Bright, indirect to direct sun indoors
Let soil dry out almost completely before watering again. Your pot should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
