Fire Chief™ is a unique variety of globe cedar that has bright gold foliage in the spring that turns green in summer and develops red tips in the fall.
Cedars grow best in full sun, but Fire Chief™ will tolerate some light shade. They require consistent moisture, especially when establishing, but the soil should still be well-drained. Fire Chief™ will sometimes develop browning on the foliage after winter, but is generally able to recover and push out new growth in the spring. We recommend wrapping them over the winter to protect them against wind drying out the foliage.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through August, depending on suppliers availability.

Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption).
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
