Cherry 'Double Pink Weeping'
Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula Plena Rosea'
Double Pink Weeping Cherry, also known as 'Pendula Plena Rosea', is a highly ornamental flowering cherry. In mid-spring, dark pink buds open to small, double, pink flowers that cover the branches before the leaves emerge. Double Pink holds its flowers for around a week longer than other varieties. This variety dates back to 17th-century Japan!
Cherries grow best in full sun with moist, somewhat fertile, well-drained soil. Protect the trunk over the winter from rabbits. Watch for diseases and pests.
