Chervil
Anthriscus cerefolium
Chervil is a member of the parsley family. Its delicate, lacy foliage has a mild flavour with a hint of anise/licorice. Chervil is an important ingredient in French cuisine along with Tarragon, Parsley and Chives.
Harvest your Chervil as needed once the plant is at least 4" tall. The leaves are best used when fresh or frozen, as drying removes almost all the flavour.
Chervil grows best in full to part sun with consistently moist soil. It bolts (flowers) quickly in hot and dry conditions, so keep your plant well watered and consider moving it to a shadier area once temperatures begin to rise. Once Chervil has bolted (flowered), the leaves are unusable.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
Characteristics

Does Not Require Cross-Pollination
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
