Cotoneaster 'Coral Beauty'
Cotneaster dammeri 'Coral Beauty'
Coral Beauty is a dense, spreading evergreen shrub with small, shiny green leaves that develop a purple tinge in the winter. In late spring, small white flowers appear along the branches and turn into bright red berries by the fall. The berries provide winter interest and are eaten by birds and small mammals. Compared to Bearberry cotoneaster, Coral Beauty has a more compact habit, shinier leaves and produces more berries.
Cotoneaster is very easy to grow. They prefer full to part sun and average, well-drained soils. Their sprawling, spreading habit also makes them great for erosion control.
