Crabapple 'Indian Magic'
Malus 'Indian Magic'
Indian Magic is a variety of crabapple that produces masses of single pink flowers in late spring and 1/2", glossy red fruits that turn golden-orange and will hold onto the tree until the next spring, that is, if birds don't eat them over the winter! As a bonus, the dark green leaves turn golden-orange in fall. It also features great resistance to mildew, good resistance to fire blight and rust, and fair resistance to scab.
Crabapples grow best in full sun with moist, fertile, well-drained soil. They're generally very cold-hardy and quite tolerant of different growing conditions. Protect the trunk from rabbits in winter.
