Crabapple 'Royal Raindrops®'
Malus ‘JFS-KW5’
Royal Raindrops® is a variety of crabapple with bright pinkish-red flowers in late spring and 1/4" red fruit that holds on the tree through winter, unless eaten by birds. The foliage emerges purple and retains its colour well through the summer before turning orange-red in fall. It has excellent resistance against rust and scab and good resistance to fire blight and mildew.
Crabapples grow best in full sun with moist, fertile, well-drained soil. They're generally very cold-hardy and quite tolerant of different growing conditions. Protect the trunk from rabbits in winter.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through August, depending on suppliers availability.
