Cucumber 'GherKing'
Cucumis sativis 'GherKing'
GherKing is a pickling cucumber that can also be eaten fresh. It produces early yields of 3"-5" fruit that will not turn bitter, even if left on the vine for too long. This variety has excellent disease resistance to Cucumber Mosaic Virus and Scab, and good resistance to Powdery and Downy Mildew.
Harvest your cucumbers when they are close to mature size and dark green. Make sure you regularly pick ripe fruits to keep your plant productive.
Cucumbers grow best in full sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soil. They are vigorous growers and require lots of nutrients and water. Heat-loving, they do best when soil and nighttime temperatures are reliably high. Since they are vines, they will need support (trellis, fence, etc.) to grow.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.

Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
