Curry Plant Dwarf
Helichrysum italicum 'Dwarf'
Dwarf Curry Plant is an attractive herb that has a spicy, curry-like fragrance with a strong, bitter taste. The leaves and flowers are edible and can be used in cooking or as a garnish.
Harvest the leaves and flowers as needed; do not remove more than 1/3 of the foliage at a time. This ensures the plant has enough energy to keep growing.
Dwarf Curry Plant grows best in full sun with poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Wet, poorly drained soil will cause root rot.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through June, depending on suppliers availability.
Characteristics
Hardiness: Non-Hardy/Annual
Does Not Require Cross-Pollination
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Let top 1-2" dry out before watering again.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
