Pine Eastern White
Pinus strobus
Eastern White Pine is a coniferous evergreen native to Ontario. It's fast-growing, long-lived and grows well in cool, humid areas. It provides shelter and food for birds and small mammals and is the larval host for over 200 species of butterflies and moths.
Eastern White Pine grows best in full sun with acidic, somewhat moist, well-drained soil. It dislikes compacted, clay and alkaline soils as well as common pollutants and hot weather.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through July, depending on suppliers availability.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Water every 2-4 days for the first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption).
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
