Orient Express is a high-yielding, Asian-type eggplant variety that produces 8"-10" long, slender, glossy fruits. The eggplants are tender with a mild flavour and cook quickly. This variety will still set fruit when stressed and during cool weather.
You can harvest eggplants anytime after they reach half of their mature size. Early harvesting prevents seedy fruits and encourages new growth on your plant. Don't pull the eggplants; cut them using sharp scissors or pruners.
Eggplants grow best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
