Elderberry 'Black Lace®'
Sambucus nigra 'Eva'
Black Lace® Elderberry is a large, flowering, deciduous shrub with attractive, purple-black dissected foliage. The pink flowers in early summer stand out well against the dark foliage and will produce berries if another compatible variety is grown nearby.
Elderberries are tough, adaptable plants that are tolerant of many conditions. They grow best in full sun but will tolerate part shade, and they prefer moist, fertile, well-drained soils, though they will tolerate drier soil once established.
Elderberries grow fast! Though you can somewhat restrict the size by pruning, ensure you are still giving them enough room to grow.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through September, depending on suppliers availability.
