Florist Hydrangea
Hydrangea macrophylla
Although commonly confused with hardy Hydrangeas that can be planted in the garden, florist Hydrangeas have been developed for indoor use in the early spring, typically for Easter. They showcase large, impressive blooms on a fairly small plant in shades of pink, white, blue, and purple. With the right light and watering, these plants can stay in bloom for weeks, making them a long-lasting alternative to cut flowers for the spring holiday season.
As breeders prioritized bloom size and colour, their hardiness tends to be neglected and they only bloom on old wood (the previous year's growth). This means they cannot reliably be planted outside as a perennial; they may or may not come back in the spring depending on their planting location and the particular winter, but they are unlikely to bloom again.

Medium to bright, indirect light indoors
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
