Fothergilla 'Mount Airy'
Fothergilla major 'Mount Airy'
Mount Airy is a hybrid Fothergilla that produces white, bottlebrush-like flowers in the spring. The thick, blue-green leaves contrast well with the flowers and turn shades of red, yellow, and orange in the fall. Mount Airy has excellent disease resistance and is fairly tolerant of shade, though flowering may be reduced.
Fothergilla grows best in full to part sun in average, moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
