Gentiana 'True Blue'
True Blue Gentian is a uncommon perennial with tubular blue flowers that appear in midsummer to early fall. This variety is easier to grow than other Gentian species.
Gentian grows best in full to part sun with moist to average, well-draining soil. May appreciate afternoon shade in areas with hot summers.
Seasonal Availability: Typically mid-April to August
Characteristics
Size: 24"-30" tall, 12"-18" wide
Bee-Friendly, Deer-Resistant, and Rabbit-Resistant
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption).
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
