Gooseberry 'Jeanne'

Jeanne is a productive dessert-type gooseberry. It produces large, sweet, flavourful, dark-red berries. If they taste sour, it's because they're not ripe yet! Jeanne has very few thorns and is resistant to powdery mildew and white pine blister rust. 

Gooseberries are self-fertile and do not require another variety to cross-pollinate with. It can take 4-5 years for gooseberries to establish and begin producing full yields. 

Gooseberries grow best in full to part sun in well-drained, fertile soil. They aren't particularly fussy about their growing conditions as long as the soil is well-drained.
