Grape 'Baco Noir'

Baco Noir is a vigorous, frost-resistant hybrid red wine grape that produces clusters of dark purple-red grapes that are sweet, juicy and boldly-flavoured. Baco Noir is mostly used for wine making, but can be used for juices as well. Grapes are self-fertile and do not require another variety for pollination. 

Grapes require specific pruning/training regimens to keep the vines healthy and productive. In general, grapes should be pruned back heavily every year, as the vine only produces fruit on the current year's growth. It's recommended to do this in late fall/early winter. It can also be done in the spring, but the sap will be flowing, which can make it difficult for the vine to heal the wounds. 

Grapes grow best in full sun with loose, fertile, well-drained soil in an area with good airflow. Consistent moisture is required for the first year, and it will need strong support to grow on. Well-draining soil is essential for winter survival.
