Great Blue Lobelia
Lobelia siphilitica
Great Blue Lobelia is a native perennial that produces spikes of bright blue flowers in late summer. These flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies and sometimes hummingbirds! Generally short-lived, Great Blue Lobelia can reseed in optimal conditions.
Great Blue Lobelia grows best in full sun to part shade with consistent moisture; it can even be grown in shallow water! It will tolerate poor drainage and damp soil, and can be grown in regular gardens as long as adequate moisture is provided.
