Holiday Greenhouse Tour
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour through the growing side of Vandermeer Nursery, as we walk through our retail store and four different production greenhouses, spanning over 20 of our 36 acres. We’ll explore our greenhouse infrastructure, propagation methods, and the technology we use to grow healthy plants at scale. We'll also cover topics like our sustainable growing practices, pest management protocols, and anything else you have questions about.
Along the way, you’ll learn a little about our history and how a small family business in 1961 grew into what you see today. This is your chance to see where and how it all happens, complete with expansive greenhouse views of thousands of our homegrown poinsettias in full colour.
If you've ever wanted to pick the brain of one of our owners with anything plant or greenhouse-related, now's your chance! Please plan for roughly 2 hours, depending on questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
We highly recommend comfortable shoes and layers as we cover multiple acres and move in and out of the greenhouses.
Where should I go when I arrive?
We start in the retail store around the cash desks and we'll make an announcement when we're ready to get started.
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
We can accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers by adjusting our route slightly! Please contact us by email at info@vandermeernursery.com with your name and the date of your event after booking or add it as an order note during your checkout so we can ensure we plan accordingly.
Is the tour kid-friendly?
We're happy to have your kids join us, but this tour is roughly 2 hours and geared more towards our adult customers, which can get boring depending on your child. Some families opt to join us for as long as their kids are engaged and step out of the tour whenever they've lost attention spans, which is entirely welcome!
What if I need to cancel my ticket?
Please contact us as soon as possible so we can free up your space for someone else! Ticket refunds or transfers are available for up to 48 hours prior to the start of the tour.
