Yellow Prairie Grass 'Golden Sunset®'
Sorghastrum nutans 'MNYG318153'
Golden Sunset® Yellow Prairie Grass is very similar to the ever popular variety, Karl Foerster. However, Golden Sunset® grows slightly taller and wider while producing seedheads later in the season. Yellow Prairie Grass is also native to Ontario, making this nativar a more eco-conscious choice. Golden Sunset® turns golden-yellow in the fall.
Yellow Prairie Grass grows best in full sun with average to dry, well-drained soils. However, it is tolerant of many soil types, including clay and sand. Golden Sunset® resists flopping, even when grown in rich soil.
