Iris Blue Flag 'Gerald Darby'
Iris x robusta 'Gerald Darby'
Gerald Darby Blue Flag Iris is a perennial that features violet-blue flowers in late spring/early summer with near-black stems. In spring, the foliage emerges a dark, dusky purple to purple-black, depending on the temperature (Cooler weather brings darker foliage). As the weather warms and the foliage grows, the top changes to a bright green while some purple still lingers at the base.
Gerald Darby Iris grows best in moist to wet, acidic soil in full sun to part shade. This Iris can also grow in shallow water.
