Vernonia angustifolia 'Plum Peachy'
Plum Peachy Ironweed features thin, finely textured foliage and small, shaggy, fuchsia-purple flowers in late summer/early fall. Fluffy tan seedheads can be left on as fall/winter interest. Very attractive to pollinators. A large plant but still smaller than the species.
Ironweed grows best in full sun to light shade in dry to average, well-drained soils. Good drought tolerance once established.
Seasonal Availability: Typically mid-April to August

Size: 4'-6' tall, 2'-3' wide
Bee-Friendly, Butterfly-Friendly, Hummingbird-Friendly, and Drought-Tolerant
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption).
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
