Japanese Maple 'Seiryu'
Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Seiryu'
Seiryu is a unique dissectum variety of Japanese Maple as it has an upright growth habit, rather than weeping. The leaves emerge lime-green with reddish tips in the spring, mature to a pale green with reddish edges, and finally turning shades of orange, gold and red in the fall. It grows quicker than other varieties and has a fairly rounded growth habit.
Japanese maples have the best colour in morning sun and afternoon shade. They can tolerate full sun but may have some leaf scorching in late summer, especially in dry soil. Use mulch around the root system to hold in moisture and keep the roots cool.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through September, depending on suppliers availability.
