Arborose® 'Kiss Me Kate™' Climbing Rose

Arborose® Kiss Me Kate is a popular climbing rose that features large, very full, pink flowers that appear in flushes throughout the season. The blooms are strongly fragrant and make a great cut flower. As a bonus, this variety is very disease resistant. 

Roses grow best in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Newly planted roses should be watered regularly so that the soil doesn't dry out for long periods. Once established, roses should only need water during periods of drought. Consider adding organic matter to your gardens to improve soil fertility and drainage.

Care

Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)

Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption)

Add mulch around the base of your rose to hold in moisture and keep the rootzone cool.

Roses are best pruned in early spring, just as the buds begin to swell. Remove old wood every few years to promote new growth.

Climbing roses need yearly pruning for best flowering and growth. In the early spring you should do a light maintenance pruning. At the end of the season, once the flowers have faded, you should cut lateral branches back to 2 or 3 buds from the main cane. New leaders, which will be thicker than the laterals, should be cut back to just above new growth.
