Lettuce Iceberg
Lactuca sativa 'Crispino'
Crispino is an Iceberg lettuce that produces medium-sized, dense heads of lettuce that can tolerate warm and humid conditions. They have a white, juicy interior and a mild flavour.
Iceberg lettuce is best harvested as a full head, rather than individual leaves. Once the head is fully formed and firm, you can harvest your lettuce by cutting the whole head off at the base of the plant. Place the lettuce in a container of cold water to chill. Rinse off the lettuce and let it dry, then place it in a plastic bag in your fridge until you are ready to use it.
Lettuce grows best in full to part sun with consistently moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Consider adding organic matter to your garden to improve drainage and soil fertility.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available March through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
