Lilac 'President Grevy'
Syringa vulgaris 'President Grevy'
President Grevy is a variety of common Lilac that produces panicles of very fragrant, double, lavender-blue flowers in mid-to-late spring. It was first introduced in 1886 and is still a popular variety for home gardeners.
Lilacs grow best in full sun with moist, rich, alkaline soil with good drainage. Common Lilacs are prone to powdery mildew. Growing them in full sun, pruning them regularly to encourage airflow, and watering during drought can help reduce the chances of them developing the fungus.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through September, depending on suppliers availability.
