Magnolia 'Betty'
Magnolia 'Betty'
Betty is a small, deciduous magnolia that belongs to the Little Girl series. The magnolias in this series were bred to bloom later than other varieties to avoid frost damaging the flower buds.
Betty features 8", slightly fragrant flowers that are pale pinkish-purple on the outside and white on the inside in spring and green leaves that turn yellow in the fall.
Magnolias grow best in full sun with moist, slightly acidic, fertile, well-drained soils. They can adapt to clay, loam, or sand as long as drainage is good. We recommend planting magnolias in a sheltered location to protect them from cold, drying winds in winter and early spring.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through August, depending on suppliers availability.
