Melon Cantaloupe
Cucumis melo 'Milan'
Milan Cantaloupe is an early-yielding variety that produces 4-6lb, sweet and juicy melons with small seed cavities. This variety has resistance to Powdery Mildew and Fusarium Wilt.
Harvest your cantaloupe when the grey-green colour of the skins begins to take on a yellow hue and the melon is able to be removed from the vine with a light tug.
Melons are warm-season crops and should only be planted once the soil and nighttime temperatures are reliably warm. They grow best in full sun with fertile, light, well-drained soil and consistent moisture, especially when developing fruit. Stop watering once your melons are about a week away from being harvested.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
