Cactus Moon
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, Hylocereus sp.
Moon Cactus is actually two different cacti grafted together. The colourful top portion is a Gymnocalycium species, while the lower stem is a Hylocereus species. This is because the colourful Gymnocalcium species are unable to photosynthesize, so they are grafted onto a green stem that can provide them with nutrients. Like all grafted plants, Moon Cacti have a shorter lifespan, usually between 1-3 years.
Cacti should be grown in direct or bright, indirect light for best colour and form. They should be grown in a small planter with well-draining cactus/succulent soil. They are prone to root rot and should only be watered when the soil has fully dried out.

Let soil dry out almost completely before watering again. Your pot should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
