Orange 'Blood'
Citrus sinensis 'Moro'
Blood orange is known as one of the sweetest citrus varieties. The flesh is dark crimson to maroon and is sweet with a hint of tartness. They can be eaten fresh, used for juicing, or in culinary dishes and baking.
Citrus should be grown outdoors in the summer once the temperatures are reliably above 15 degrees Celsius. Once the cool weather hits, they should be moved inside to a location that receives as much light as possible. Let the soil dry out slightly in between waterings, but not fully.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
