Pea Sugar Snap
Pisum sativum 'Johnnys Superior Strain'
Johnny's Superior Strain Sugar Snap Peas is a vigorous grower that produces sweet, crisp pods. This variety yields well in cool and warm temperatures.
For sugar snap peas, harvest when the pods are plump, bright green and snap easily off of the vine.
Peas are a cool-season crop and grow their best before and after the heat of the summer. Plant them in full to part sun with moist (not soggy), loose, well-drained soil. Provide support (trellis, fence, stakes, etc.) to keep pods off the ground. If you have heavy clay soil, consider adding organic matter to help improve drainage.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available March through June, depending on suppliers availability.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Keep soil moist, but not soggy.
If it is planted in a pot, it should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
Increase watering in the heat of summer and watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
