Pepper Sweet 'Super Red Pimento'
Capsicum annuum 'Super Red Pimento'
Super Red Pimento produces large (3" long, 5" wide), flat, pimento-type peppers that start green but mature to a bright red. These peppers usually register between 100 and 500 on the Scoville Heat Unit. This variety is resistant to Tomato Mosiac Virus.
Harvest your peppers once they have fully turned red; this is when they will be the sweetest.
Peppers need full sun and lots of heat to grow. Wait until soil and nighttime temperatures are reliably above 18°C before transplanting outdoors. The soil should be fertile and well-drained. When you water, water deeply and let the top of the soil dry out before watering again.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available April through June, depending on suppliers availability.
