Pine 'Austrian'
Pinus nigra
Austrian Pine is a large, densely branched evergreen. It has a conical form when young but becomes more umbrella-shaped with age. The needles are dark green, frequently curved and/or twisted and persist for 4-7 years on the tree before dropping. Austrian Pines are hardy and tolerant of many conditions, making them a great choice for homeowners.
Austrian Pines grow best in full sun with moist, well-drained soil. They tolerate clay soils, drought, salt, and pollution.
