Pitcher Plant Hookeriana

Nepenthes × hookeriana is a vigorous, naturally occurring hybrid between Nepenthes ampullaria and Nepenthes rafflesiana, found in lowland areas of Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo, and Peninsular Malaysia. It produces squat pitchers that are typically green with varying amounts of red speckling, giving each plant a slightly different appearance.

Pitcher Plants require different care than typical houseplants. Depending on the type, they naturally grow in nutrient-poor bogs or tropical forests, where they have adapted to supplementing their nutrients by trapping and digesting insects and other small organisms rather than relying on rich soil. Most prefer high humidity and benefit from cooler nighttime temperatures than daytime temperatures.
