As a short-day plant, poinsettias produce their brightest colour when the days grow shorter, making them a true symbol of the festive season.
Although often believed to be highly toxic to pets, poinsettias are only mildly toxic and typically cause only minor irritation if ingested.

Bright, indirect light indoors
Keep soil moist, but not soggy. Your pot should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
