Venusta Queen of the Prairie is a spectacular, underutilized perennial. Showy sprays of small, pink flowers appear from early to late summer and lighten in colour as they age. They are easy to grow as long you give them consistent moisture.
Queen of the Prairie grows best in full to part sun with fertile, moist soils. These plants will not tolerate drought!
Seasonal Availability: Typically mid-April to August
Characteristics
Size: 4'-8' tall, 3'-4' wide
Rabbit-Resistant, Deer-Resistant, Bee-Friendly, Butterfly-Friendly, and Good for Wet Soil
Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
Water every 1-3 days for first year until established (based on outdoor temperature & plant's water consumption). Be sure to increase watering in heat of summer and, watch for wilting or browning as signs to increase watering frequency.
