Redbud 'Midnight Express®'

Midnight Express® is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree. In the spring, the branches are covered in small lavender-pink flowers before the leaves arrive, holding onto the tree for weeks before dropping. The large, burgundy, heart-shaped foliage emerges for the summer and holds its colour through the season. In the fall, the outer leaves stay burgundy-red while the interior leaves turn butterscotch yellow. 

Redbuds grow best in full to part sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soils. They dislike heavy, poorly-drained soils and do best with consistent moisture.
