Redbud 'The Rising Sun'
Cercis canadensis 'JN2'
The Rising Sun is a small deciduous tree. In the spring, the branches are covered in small pale pink flowers before the leaves arrive, holding on the tree for weeks before dropping. After blooming, the foliage emerges bright orange-peach and ages orange, gold, and yellow before turning lime green. The Rising Sun has better heat and drought tolerance than other varieties.
Redbuds grow best in full to part sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soils. They dislike heavy, poorly-drained soils and do best with consistent moisture.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through August, depending on suppliers availability.
