Redbud 'Vanilla Twist'
Cercis canadensis 'Vanilla Twist'
Vanilla Twist is a small, weeping tree. In the spring, the branches are covered in small white flowers before the leaves arrive, holding onto the tree for weeks before dropping. The large, green, heart-shaped foliage emerges for the summer before turning golden shades in the fall. Vanilla Twist has good drought and heat tolerance compared to other varieties.
Redbuds grow best in full to part sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soils. They dislike heavy, poorly-drained soils and do best with consistent moisture.
