Sedge 'Fringed'
Carex crinita
Fringed Sedge is a native, grass-like perennial that produces arching stems of drooping spikelets in late spring to early summer. The mature seeds are attractive to ducks and other wetland birds as well as well as Snapping and Eastern Mud Turtles.
Fringed Sedge grows well in consistently moist to wet soils, and will spread via rhizomes to form large colonies, making it great for naturalizing and erosion control.
