Sedge 'Hop'
Carex lupulina
Hop Sedge is a native, grass-like perennial that produces bright green spikes in early summer. As the seeds mature, they turn golden-brown and provide a food source for many different birds.
Hop Sedge grows best in moist to wet soils and will tolerate occasional flooding. A good choice for wetland or shoreline restoration, or growing around water gardens, ponds or streams.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available May through September, depending on suppliers availability.

Size: 2-4 feet tall, 1-2 feet wide.

Care
Full sun outdoors (6-8+ hours of direct sun) and Part shade outdoors (4 hours of direct sun)
All plants classified as water plants prefer wet roots or to be partially submerged, depending on their submersion depth preferences. Plants with a submersion depth starting with 0cm can be planted in wet areas in the garden, in addition to pond edges.
