String of Pearls 'Variegated'
Senecia rowleyanus f. variegata
Variegated String of Pearls is a popular trailing succulent with small, round, pea-shaped green leaves striped with creamy yellow that grow along long, delicate stems. As it matures, the stems can cascade well beyond the edges of the pot, creating a distinctive trailing effect.
String of Pearls grows best in bright, indirect to direct light and should be planted in a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. Water only once the soil has mostly dried out. Its root system is small and shallow, so it tends to grow best in smaller, shallower pots. For a fuller plant, allow the stems to grow across the surface of the soil until the pot fills in before letting them trail over the edges.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available July through February, depending on supplier availability.
Characteristics
Trailing
Strands can reach over 5' long.
Care
Bright, indirect to direct sun indoors
Let soil dry out almost completely before watering again. Your pot should have a drainage hole to reduce the likelihood of root rot caused by water accumulating in the bottom of the pot.
