Swiss Chard 'Bright Lights'
Beta vulgaris 'Bright Lights'
Bright Lights is one of the best varieties of multicoloured Swiss Chard. Stems come in a variety of colours and shades of gold, orange, pink, red and white. The flavour is more mild than regular Swiss Chard, though it can vary depending on the stems colour. All colours are consistent in terms of growth, leaf shape and texture as well as being heat tolerant and bolt-resistant.
Swiss Chard can be harvested at almost any time. For baby chard, harvest when the leaves are between 3"-5". For mature harvests, wait until the leaf is 6"-8".
Swiss Chard grows best in full sun with fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist, not soggy. Swiss Chard is a cool-season crop and grows best before and after the heat of the summer.
Seasonal Availability: Typically available March through June, depending on suppliers availability.
